The first development of the internet started in the 1950s when the first computers were released. In 1982 the IPS was made. The internet protocol suite was standardized in the concept of fully interconnected networks called the internet became more common. Since the 1990s the internet has majorly changed our lives. The internet then got much better when two-way phone calls were available on the computer. Then we were able to use satellites to broadcast a photo video image to other countries. Around 2008 Google Chrome was a big hit and everybody stopped using other ways to get through to the internet. So the internet has been around for close to 62 years now - and we still haven't found anything better!
What is a telegram?
A telegram is a form of communication. One person sends morse code along a telegraph.
There is another person at the end of a telegraph listening to short beeps and long beeps.
This person is quickly writing the letters down. This then gets transformed into a normal
letter and sent to an address.
MOTAT
We went to MOTAT this week. I had a lot of fun.
Our class got to go on The Voyager. We got to
ride the new Roller-Coaster edition. I have never
been on a roller coaster; so to be in a simulator
was pretty cool.
We got to look at old typewriters. Our MOTAT
staff member-Elaine- put everything in a sequence
for us. The first printing press was made in 1440 AD.\
That's a long time ago!
We also got to venture in the Mirror Maze. It was fun
to start with, but as we finished it 6 or 7 times it began
to grow boring. Nevertheless it was almost as good as
The Voyager!
"All aboard" We were allowed to ride on a Melbourne
tram. We went from MOTAT to the Zoo and further
but had to turn around and go to MOTAT again.
All in all we had a pretty fun time. This was the sixth
time I have been, but none of the others have been this FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
Globilisation
In the past people used telegrams and codes to communicate. They also used books and
letters made by typewriters. Typewriters were very difficult to use because you could not backspace like
you can now with computers.
Now we are able to use many different things to communicate.
We are able to email people around the world. We can talk
on telephones. Also we are able to communicate with
iphones, ipod touches, android smartphones, ipads etc.
Moment in time
My heart was racing. I was running as fast as l could.
He was right behind me. Suddenly he grabbed me.
l fended him off and dived over the line!
Mask Reflection
Our masks are getting on really well. The spray paint looks really effective.
Everybody brought in cool things. And everybody is having
FUN!!!!!
Dance
Our class have been going to the hall to practice our dancing a few times a week. This week we have been listening to james brown. We have come up with some sequences with buddys. We have some videos on the home page.We have been getting into locomotive and non locomotive dance routines. A lot of us need to work on our confidence.

EOTC WEEK!
TREE ADVENTURES
It was so fun but if people got to scared or had to be rescued there were big lineups to get into the courses. We got to go on 4 courses. They were all very challenging. We were there for 4 and a half hours but still we couldn't get many courses finished.
Orakei Marae
Very interesting. We learnt lots about the history of maori. The girls learnt the poi dance and the boys learnt the haka.
Wave pools
We had lots of fun while the waves were on. Everybody loved the slide.Everybody in year 5 was in at the same time.
Waiatarua Reserve-Orienteering
We were in a hurry to be the 1st ones finished. Everyone was running around so much. There was a lot of people confused because the monitors put out some wrong tags. Everyone put in 105%. It was a team effort.

speeches
With our speeches we are having lots of fun.
Mine is all about how life could be different. Our
speeches are so silly that one of my reasons is that
our teachers could be holographic!
